The City of Durham's Transportation Department's Office of Parking Management operates the municipal parking system.
The office is responsible for developing and managing the City's five parking garages, 12 surface parking lots, approximately 3,700 on-street parking spaces and enforcing parking regulations and time restrictions.

The 2019 monthly parking permit billing schedule is now available for download.


NEW Morgan/Rigsbee Garage

The City of Durham is planning to open a new mixed-use parking garage in late winter of 2019, contingent on construction/weather delays, etc. Park Durham is now taking reservations for monthly parking in the new garage. If you are interested in reserving a monthly parking permit in the new garage, please complete the Monthly Parking Reservation Form.


Downtown Durham Parking Study

The City of Durham has now finished a downtown parking study to help understand the nature of parking in light of emerging trends, plan for Durham’s needs over the next 10 years, and build on the findings of the 2013 Comprehensive Parking Study.

New Transit and Train Partnership

When getting off the train in Durham, you can now request a transit pass to help you get to your final destination. Just request a pass from conductors while on the train and present it when boarding the bus. It’s valid for one ride and one transfer only on the day of travel.
