ParkDurham Mission Statement
Parking is a vital component of Durham's public infrastructure and economic health. As a division of the Department of Transportation, our mission is to maximize public parking in Durham by:
- Providing a strategic role in supporting, enhancing, and stimulating economic growth and development within the City's business districts.
- Supplying a sufficient number of parking spaces to accommodate public demand.
- Balancing rates, parking supply, and actions to encourage the use of the most efficient and economical modes of transportation.
- Developing and implementing parking management strategies to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of parking programs and services. The City of Durham is dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community by delivering a cost-effective, highly responsive service with integrity and friendliness.
