Why is the City of Durham installing new Parking Access and Revenue Control System (PARCS) equipment?

With parking in downtown Durham now more in demand than ever, the City of Durham is rolling out new Parking Access and Revenue Control System (PARCS) equipment to provide more payment locations and options, better collect payments all while creating a more favorable and convenient parking experience.

Beginning on Monday, August 19 until Friday, September 7, the new PARCS equipment will first be installed in the Chapel Hill Street Parking Garage.  The installation dates for the following garages will be announced in the near future - Corcoran Street Parking Garage, Church Street Parking Garage, Durham Centre Parking Garage, and Lot 20.

To help you better understand how the new equipment will work, we’re conducting numerous drop-in style information sessions where you can speak with our team and learn more.
